Miss Cankles

About me.......

Hi!  My name is Casey and I am addicted to chocolate. (Hi Casey)

Where to begin?  Isn't it always difficult to write about yourself in these "about me" sections?  I mean, nobody knows me better than ME right?  So why is it so difficult to describe myself to adoring strangers?  Oh, I guess I can give it a shot.

Born in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, I have had my Cankles since the ripe old age of 0.0002 nanoseconds.  I did weigh in at 9lbs 10 1/2 oz after all!   It only took me the next 18-20 years to fully appreciate myself and my Cankles.  Ok, I don't appreciate them but I have grown to accept them as a part of my otherwise despicable lower half.  After graduating high school in said town of Nowheresville, I moved on to a graduate from THE Pennsylvania State University with more than just a degree in drinking, football and the social aspects of the rugby team.  That sounds dirty - and I assure you, it was!

I started my "adult life" with a career at Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey that quickly moved me south to the blooming metropolis of Memphis, TN.  I somehow managed to survive that brief stay without being punctured by a random bullet meant for some other poor soul and escaped fairly unscathed.  I say "fairly" because I did walk away from there with a little bundle of joy? in the oven.  It is funny to me now but at the time all I could think was "I cannot raise a baby in the ghetto" so I hightailed it out of there and moved back in with my parents in their new home state of Florida.  They were beyond thrilled to have me back under their roof at 24 years old and pregnant.  Oh, and did I mention I left my lucrative career to move to Florida and grow this little embryo during two very terrifying Cat 3-4 hurricanes?  Yes, my parents were proud!  I'm pretty sure they are still wondering how exactly I came to reside with them again after being out of their tender, loving care for over six years.  I'm pretty sure I didn't ask, I just moved right in!

Florida proved to be interesting!  Despite the hurricane activity and insane humidity, I was able to successfully birth the most beautiful little boy you ever did see!  I also found myself, ironically, in the business of selling oranges in the state known for it's orange production.  And so began my "career" in the produce industry.  After buying my first house at the height of the market and watching it dissolve into a worthless pile of nothingness a few years later, I completed a short sale transaction and packed my bags for higher ground.  By higher, I mean elevation not intellectual property.  New Jersey, or more specifically "South Jersey" is where I now reside.  I can see the skyline of Philadelphia in one direction and the vast, rolling tomato farms in the other.

In addition to the little love of my life named Cooper and my career (ehhem paycheck) I also enjoy trying my hand at photography!  I'm sure you'll see a little taste of that here and there as well.  You will also be tortured by my constant, lifelong struggle with diet and exercise!   I'm sure there are a few good laughs in those story lines!

So, my friends, that is my summary.  I'm sure I missed a lot so feel free to ask any questions you can think of and I'll be sure to tell you all the lies I can come up with!

Go forth and read my little blog readers.  If you don't like what you read, feel free to read elsewhere!
